Are breast cancer lumps hard or soft?
The most common symptom of breast cancer is a new lump or mass. A painless, hard mass that has irregular edges is more likely to be cancer, but breast cancers can be tender, soft, or round. They can even be painful.
Do cancerous lumps move around?
Cancerous lumps are usually hard, painless and immovable. Cysts or fatty lumps etc are usually slightly softer to touch and can move around. This has come from experience – I found a rubbery, painless moveable lump in my neck which was not cancer.
